See which colleges offer the best-value programs in specific fields of study. Discover programs’ average net cost, graduates’ future earnings, and much more.
Programs are fields of study or areas of academic concentration. At the bachelor’s level, these are usually called “majors.”
Think accounting, computer science, or English.
We have ranked programs by their economic value (ROI). The top spots go to programs offering the optimal combination of affordability and high
earnings.
Looking for law or medical schools? Select “Other advanced degree.”
To rank programs, we rely entirely on primary source data from the U.S. Department of Education, as published on College Scorecard and the National Center for Education Statistics’ (NCES)
IPEDS tool.
Our ranking methodology is based on just 2 transparent variables: average net cost (after financial aid) and average earnings, 4 years after graduation.
We synthesize these variables to assign programs an Economic Score according to which programs are ranked – the lower the Economic Score, the better.
Data covers all students at accredited universities who received at least $1 in federal financial aid.
